I am a recovering addict, a mother of three kids. I have a master's degree in counseling and I have written two books, one I have just published, "A Better Life:Tips From A Recovering Heroin Addict," Amy McCalister, which is available on Amazon and linked on my homepage. I am working on my third book now, "Needles," a book about my life in active addiction. I am in methadone treatment and Narcotics Anonymous, the combination of the two programs seems to work the best for me. Everyday I wake up with a choice to live or to die. The journey is not easy but it is worth it. I enjoy my life, just for today.
